Troop 956 prides itself on giving back in many ways to the community.  Here are some of our recent service activities:

Scouts volunteered at Galilee United Methodist Church in support of the Stop Hunger Now Program.

In partnership with our chartering organization, American Legion Post 150, scouts volunteer throughout the year to maintain the Veterans Memorial in Sterling, VA. 

Scouts assist with and  participate in the annual Memorial Day Service at the Veterans Memorial in Sterling, VA.

Eagle Scout service projects improve our neighborhoods, schools, and parks.  Recent projects have included: food drives;  bench, birdhouse, trail, and kiosk construction at Claude Moore Park; and, a trail at River Bend Middle School.

Troop 956 participates in the annual BSA Scouting for Food program.  Scouts collect food throughout the neighborhoods and help to deliver the food to local food pantries.

Troop 956 helps to keep Algonkian Parkway clean through the Adopt-a-Highway program in the Coutryside and Cascades neighborhoods.
