About Troop 956

Picture
Troop 956, chartered by American Legion Post 150 in Sterling, Virginia.  Every activity that the Troop conducts strives to meet the aims of Boy Scouting:
- Building character
- Fostering citizenship
- Developing mental, moral, and physical fitness

Our boy-led scouting program includes year round activities such as hiking, biking, swimming, canoeing, snow skiing, snowboarding, fishing, backpacking, white water rafting, and playing sports.  Scouts learn and teach leadership, teamwork, camping skills, cooking, firebuilding, citizenship, first aid, knots, and lashings.

Adventure, fun, challenge and responsibility – that’s the promise of the Scouting program.  Are you ready? You can be part of the Scouting program and Troop 956 is the place to be!

Come to one of our meetings for a visit! We’re always looking for new Scouts. We welcome any boy (at least 11 years of age) and his family to visit in person to see how Scouting might work for you.  See more information on our About Us page.
